(JACKSON, Miss.) – After a nationwide search, Dr. Jerald Jones-Woolfolk has been appointed the new vice president for student affairs at the College of Staten Island – the City University of New York, effective July 1.Jones-Woolfolk received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Jackson State University with honors in 1981, her master’s degree in counselor education from Iowa State University in 1984, and her Ph.D. degree in urban higher education from Jackson State University in 2008.

The College of Staten Island has 13,000 students and is one of the senior-level colleges of the City University of New York, which is the largest urban higher education system and one of the three largest systems of higher education in the country.

Jones-Woolfolk formerly served as Interim vice president for student affairs at Mississippi Valley State University.
